QR MANILA took advantage of a short-handed QR New York side to score a comfortable 4-0 (2,786-1,139) victory in the seventh week of the second Qatar Airways-Filipino Club Tenpin Bowlers Friday Mixed League at Funland Centre.

Medel Salazar scored a cool 604 series to lead his team to victory which helped them rise to fifth in the 10-team table. Ronald Pabello and Dr Lito Fernandez chipped in with 542 and 541 totals respectively for Manila.

New York were forced to play with just two out of a customary five-member squad. Leo San Juan made a valiant while Mat Pile had 441. New York stay second from bottom after the defeat.

In another match, QR Cebu stayed atop the table despite a 1-3 (2,870-2,967) defeat at the hands of QR Sydney.

JM Villanueva was the top man for Sydney, who had three others register totals over 500 pins. Jojo Cruz scored 575, Noel Baclao 573 and Onofre Gondran 571. They rose to fourth place with the win.

Cebu also had a quartet with over 500 scores, led by the 590 series of Romy Ocampo. Danny Sevilla added a 588, John Cifra 539 and JR Sacro 528 for the losers.

Meanwhile, second-ranked QR Melbourne were held to a 2-2 (2,802-2,750) stalemate by QR Bahrain.

In other matches, QR Paris defeated QR London 3-1 (2,831-2,721) as Medel Villanueva scored the week's high of 683; while QR Amritsar won by default against no-show QR Goa 4-0 (2,617-555).
