On the morning of October 31, I left home with a couple of friends, looking forward to running a few errands and enjoying the weekend.

My plans were smashed to smithereens when my car stalled with a dead battery somewhere on Exhibition Avenue in Manama.

I went into Sixt Rent-a-Car situated a few metres away from where my car was parked and approached receptionist Ms Rochelle for help. She consulted with her operations manager Georgiana Apostol, who very kindly accommodated my request.

With the help of Mr Ahmed, a staff, and Mr Nizar Ali Khwaja, who took his time to stop his car, lend his cable and help Ahmed jump-start my car, my friends and I were able to go on our way and buy a new battery.

I would like Georgiana, Rochelle, Ahmed and Nizar to know how much their help, kindness and time was appreciated.
